Interactive Exhibition -  Jewelry Making
The project we were assigned entailed creating a tray that represents a certain craft from the UAE. Our particular craft was jewelry making. We started off this project by researching the craft in depth, to understand its history, current existence and its future. We road-tripped across the country from Sharjah, to AbuDhabi and Dubai. Eventually, our research led us to jewelry artist Azza Al Qubaisi, who became a very important inspiration to our project. We then decided to incorporate rotoscoping animation as the medium of storytelling since we can bring out the rustic feel to this craft.
At the exhibition, the individual trays were placed on the projector table one at a time and read through a sensor to project the appropriate animation. The final work was exhibited in Maraya Art Center and is to also be exhibited at the Sharjah Heritage Museum.
